INESC Macau was established on the March 1^st 1996 by 8 founding partners, to sustain a consistent R&D development through the active complicity of academic institutions and companies in Macau. At the end of 1997, the institute augmented its structure to 10 entities, which maintains the equilibrium of academic and industrial sections.
